Most tiling failures we are called to fix were never tiling problems: they were background problems. Tiles fixed over old paint, unboarded stud walls or untanked showers fail in years, not decades. We prepare, board and tank first, then tile.
We set out every room before the first tile goes on, so cuts land where they are least visible and features line through. Large format, porcelain, natural stone and mosaics are all everyday work for us.
